We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children a broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
We understand that each child’s learning is unique to them. Therefore, each child at Crossways Pre-school is allocated a ‘key person’ who encourages the use of all skills covered in our curriculum. They actively assess, plan and support all children to fully participate in all activities and provide valuable learning experiences. As they work with each child they keep records of their achievements and developments in their ‘Learning Journals’.
